True North Outboards and Small Engines strive to deliver outstanding customer service. We are a family owned and run business delivering boat and motor service packages that can be customised to suit your needs and budget. Every boat is different, in fact every boat is a customised rig, either a high speed river runner, tow boat for the kids or a blue water attack weapon; with this in mind the servicing and maintenance of the different rigs needs to be customised to suit. Ben Melvin has been in the marine industry in WA since 1995 and has a vast knowledge of all brands of outboards, servicing, diagnosis and repairs to outboards including but not limited to Suzuki, Yamaha, Mercury and Honda. With a background in racing motorcycles, Ben has experience in servicing and repairs of all motorcycles and small engines such as lawnmowers and other garden equipment, generators and water pumps.
Previously known as Ord River Outboards, a successful business (including Suzuki Dealership) based in Kununurra, Western Australia, and servicing all of the East Kimberley both commercial and recreational engines. Ben has experienced many situations in remote areas that require on the spot repairs for commercial customers running commercial fishing boats and high speed dual and triple engine tour boats. This means we fix things first not just replace if possible.
Ben carries out services and repairs in his ute filled with most of the tools and equipment needed to carry out most jobs in your driveway or yard. Major or specialised repairs (welding, fibreglass etc.) will be organised through a third party and you will be advised before anything is done or changes are made. My service area extends north to Lancelin and south to the banks of the Swan River. Travel further and outside of this area may attract a service fee. Ben, his wife and three beautiful children moved to Yanchep in 2013, building a house and putting down roots in this great town to be closer to family. We value honesty, reliability and clear communication between all parties.
